Closed-loop systems can collect runoff, filter it, and reuse it, significantly reducing resource consumption. These lights can be tailored to specific crop requirements, allowing different plants to be cultivated on different levels simultaneously.Multi-story film greenhouses are particularly suited to high-value crops like leafy greens, herbs, strawberries, seedlings, and ornamentals. The vertical arrangement drastically increases yield per square meter of land, which is critical in regions with high land costs or limited arable space, such as urban or peri-urban areas. By moving production closer to consumers, these structures can help shorten supply chains, reduce transportation emissions, and improve the freshness of produce.From a sustainability perspective, the combination of vertical stacking, efficient climate control, and resource recycling can lower energy and water use compared to traditional open-field agriculture. Film materials can be selected for recyclability at the end of their service life.
